The guide helped immensely to make this more playable, I was actually able to unlock several regions and multiple trucks. The flow makes sense now! VFX/visuals could use more juice though. I wonder if there is an opportunity to add a mini-game or a visual cutscene as your truck is driving a long distance; you can click 8x to speed it up, but I thought hey - it might be nice to see the scenery that the truck is driving through as it is moving. Something like that could add to the immersion, so you're not always sitting in the bird's eye view.
Thanks for the kind words — really glad the guide helped and the flow clicked!
Visual juice is definitely on the list. v0.6 (coming in 2-3 weeks) is the visual identity pass: new map with proper terrain, industrial theme, truck sprites, day/night cycle with headlights, ambient sounds, and the juice layer (delivery flashes, tire tracks). Should feel very different.
On the journey view idea — that's a really interesting suggestion and I've been thinking about it too. The challenge: the game is intentionally "management, not driving" — I didn't want it to become an idle game or a driving sim. But I think there's a middle ground:
Not a mini-game (that would pull the game away from its core), but the immersion idea is solid. Adding it to the roadmap for after the core loop is fixed (milestones, personnel, story). Probably v0.8.
